About this product
Blanchon Teak Oil is a water-based oil for exterior wood, made for red and brown exotic species such as teak, niangon and rosewood, and also olive wood. It nourishes the wood, makes it water and stain repellent and slows down greying. The matt finish brings out the natural colour of garden furniture, verandas and screens.
Do not use it on decking or outdoor floors: a decking oil or saturator is meant for those.
Maintenance is easy: as soon as the wood loses its sheen, dust it and apply a new coat, without sanding or stripping. Clean greyed or stained wood first with Blanchon Wood Degreyer.
How to use it
- The wood must be clean, dry and free of old finishes. Clean greyed wood first with Blanchon Wood Degreyer and degrease exotic wood.
- Sand lightly (fine paper, no steel wool) and dust off.
- Not in full sun or above 28 °C, and no rain within 24 hours of the second coat.
- Shake well, do not thin. Apply the first coat with a brush along the grain; let it soak in for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Apply the second coat as soon as the wood no longer looks wet and smooth it after a few minutes with a dry brush.
