About this product
007 Teak oil clear contains no pigment. It is intended for the transparent treatment of teak, eucalyptus and other hardwoods, which makes it very suitable for garden furniture. Without pigment it protects less against greying from sunlight than the tinted decking oils.
Osmo Decking Oil is a satin matt finish based on natural plant oils. It penetrates the wood, stays microporous so the wood can breathe, and makes the surface water and dirt repellent. It does not crack, flake or peel, and you can recoat later without sanding.
Apply two thin coats on bare wood. For decks with heavy foot traffic, Osmo recommends using the clear Osmo Anti-Slip Decking Oil 430 as the second coat: it gives a less slippery and more hard-wearing surface.
For maintenance, clean the deck with Osmo Decking Cleaner 8025. Check heavily used decks at least once a year and apply a fresh thin coat where needed. If the wood has turned grey, first refresh it with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel.
How to use it
- Let new wood weather first: resinous wood such as larch and Douglas fir at least 6 weeks, Bangkirai, Massaranduba and Garapa at least 3 months, freshly pressure-treated wood about 6 months.
- Remove greying first with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel. The wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (max. 18 % moisture).
- Stir well, do not thin.
- Apply thinly and evenly along the grain and spread out well.
- Allow about 12 hours to dry with good ventilation, then apply a second thin coat.
- Renovation: one coat on the cleaned surface is usually enough, no sanding needed.
