About this product
Blanchon Wood Degreyer is a ready-to-use gel for cleaning and removing stains from exterior wood that has gone grey through weathering: decking, boardwalks, fences, cladding, shutters, gates, garden furniture and sheds. It removes greying, dirt and stains quickly and deeply, without bleaching or discolouring the wood.
It works on all species: resinous wood such as red cedar, European hardwoods such as oak and chestnut, and tropical woods such as teak, iroko, ipe and sipo, as well as pressure-treated timber. Being a gel, it clings well to vertical surfaces.
After rinsing and drying, the wood can be finished with an oil, saturator, stain or paint, for example Blanchon Teak Oil on garden furniture. The degreyer is not a fungicide treatment.
How to use it
- Wear gloves, safety glasses and protective clothing.
- Shake well, do not thin. Dampen the wood slightly first.
- Apply the gel with a brush or long-pile roller; vertical surfaces from top to bottom.
- Leave for 10 to 15 minutes at most, scrub with a stiff nylon brush if needed.
- Rinse thoroughly with water (pressure washer only on low pressure). Repeat if necessary.
- Let it dry well (approx. 72 hours) before applying the finish.
