About this product
Préplast is a clear sanding sealer based on synthetic resins, applied as the first coat on bare sanded wood indoors before lacquering, oiling, waxing or painting.
It dries quickly and sands easily, so you can carry on working without delay. It gives good lacquer adhesion on oily exotic species and on floors that were previously waxed or oiled. On pine, pitch pine and other resinous wood it helps keep the tone as light as possible. It is also used to lock in a stain and to isolate the joints of ship-deck style floors.
Note that Préplast slightly warms the natural colour of the wood.
How to use it
- Apply to bare sanded, dry (moisture below 10%) and dust-free wood.
- Shake well, do not thin. Do not apply below 12 °C.
- Apply one full, even coat with a brush or short-pile roller.
- Once dry, lightly sand and vacuum.
- Apply the chosen finish within 48 hours (2 coats if lacquer).
