About this product
Osmo Polyx-Oil Rapid (Hardwax-Olie Rapid) is the well-known Osmo hardwax-oil in a faster-drying version. Based on plant oils and waxes, it gives a clear finish with a particularly hard, hard-wearing surface. The coat repels water and dirt and stays microporous, so it will not crack, peel or flake.
The satin version 3232 gives a soft sheen. Each coat dries in about 5 hours, so you can apply two coats in one day. Like any oil, it slightly warms the wood colour (wet look).
Suitable for all indoor wooden floors (solid wood, planks, parquet, strip flooring, OSB and cork) and for furniture. Resists wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juice, milk and water according to DIN 68861-1A. For dark, extractive-rich woods such as wenge or merbau, Osmo recommends Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin 1101 (Blanke Was).
For routine cleaning, mop with a damp (not wet) mop and water with Osmo Wisch-Fix (Wash and Care). Worn spots and stubborn marks can be refreshed with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner 3029. When the floor becomes dull over time, apply a thin coat of Osmo Maintenance Oil, no sanding needed.
How to use it
- The wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Remove old paint or lacquer completely.
- Sand starting with a coarse grit; finish floors at P100-120, furniture at P120-180. Vacuum the dust thoroughly.
- Stir well, do not thin. Apply thinly along the grain with an Osmo flat brush, floor brush or microfibre roller and spread well within 10-15 minutes.
- Leave to dry for approx. 5-6 hours with good ventilation, then apply a second thin coat.
- On cork, apply extra thinly and allow a longer drying time (at least 6-8 hours).
- When renovating an oiled surface, one coat on the clean, dry floor is usually enough.
