About this product
Osmo Oil Stain is a coloured base coat based on plant oils, designed for colouring wooden floors evenly and professionally. The stain penetrates the wood and gives a uniform colour without hiding the grain.
With 3501 White the wood takes on a white or whitewashed look, ideal on oak and other light woods. One coat gives a transparent white, two coats a more intense white. Osmo does not recommend a very intense white on floors, as it is more sensitive and can yellow naturally.
Oil Stain is always a base coat: top coat it with Osmo Polyx-Oil Original 3040 White to prevent yellowing. Suitable for all indoor wooden floors (solid wood, planks, parquet, OSB, cork), stairs and furniture. On red or dark woods white can leave streaks, so always do a trial first.
For routine cleaning, mop with a damp (not wet) mop and water with Osmo Wisch-Fix (Wash and Care). Worn spots and stubborn marks can be refreshed with Osmo Liquid Wax Cleaner 3029. When the floor becomes dull over time, apply a thin coat of Osmo Maintenance Oil, no sanding needed.
How to use it
- The wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (moisture content max. 18%). Remove old paint or lacquer completely.
- Sand: at least P100 for an intense colour, P120-150 for an even colour, furniture P120-180. Vacuum the dust thoroughly.
- Stir well, do not thin. Transparent: apply very thinly with a floor brush, microfibre roller or double blade scraper and buff in with a white pad. Intense: apply thinly with a microfibre roller or floor brush and spread well.
- Leave to dry for approx. 12 hours with good ventilation.
- Top coat with Osmo Polyx-Oil Original 3040 White.
