About this product

Osmo Exterior Oil Stain (formerly Natural Oil Woodstain) is a transparent wood protection based on natural plant oils for all exterior wood: cladding, fences, pergolas, sheds, carports, balconies, windows and doors, and decks too. Primer and top coat in one product.

Colour 712 Ebony is a dark brown shade that gives the wood a deep, warm colour and, thanks to the pigment, protects well against greying from sunlight.

The finish stays microporous, so the wood can breathe and swells and shrinks less. It is water repellent, does not crack, flake or peel, and is easy to refresh later without sanding. The stain contains active ingredients that protect the coating against mould and algae, so use it outdoors only.

Check the wood regularly and apply one new coat on weathered areas after cleaning. If the wood has turned grey, first refresh it with Osmo Wood Reviver Power Gel.

How to use it

• The wood must be clean, dry and frost-free (max. 20 % moisture). Remove old paint and varnish completely first.
• Stir well, do not thin. If possible, apply the first coat to all sides before installation.
• Apply thinly and evenly with a brush, pad or microfibre roller along the grain and spread out well.
• Allow 4-6 hours to dry with good ventilation, then apply the second coat.
• Renovation: one coat on the clean surface is usually enough, no sanding needed.
