About this product
Osmo Wood Putty (Voegkitoplossing) is a universal liquid based on a polymer dispersion for filling joints and cracks in sanded parquet. You mix it with fine sanding dust from the floor itself into a thick paste, so the joints take on exactly the colour of the wood.
It has a very high filling strength, dries quickly (approx. 30-40 minutes) and sands well. It is suitable for all wood species.
Use it for small joints (under 2 mm) and small damage such as scratches and screw holes in wooden and parquet floors. Not suitable for flexible or floating constructions such as plank floors on joists, or for cork. After sanding, finish the floor with, for example, Osmo Polyx-Oil.
How to use it
- Sand the floor down to bare wood; final pass before filling with P80 (belt sander) and P60 (edges). Vacuum thoroughly.
- Use only clean sanding dust without remnants of old finish, preferably from the same wood species (grit P80-120).
- Stir the putty well and mix it with sanding dust in a separate bucket into a thick, easily trowelled paste (approx. 15% weight increase).
- Apply diagonally across the floor with a stainless double blade scraper and press firmly into the joints; repeat if needed.
- After 30-60 minutes, sand first coarse (P80) then fine (P100-120) until no putty is left on the wood. Then finish with an Osmo oil-wax finish.
