Rectavit 249 Express parquet adhesive

About this product

Rectavit 249 Express is a ready-to-use, hard-elastic parquet adhesive based on hybrid polymers. It is free of solvents, water and isocyanates and forms an elastic, non-shrinking adhesive layer that bonds well to most substrates: screed (anhydrite too), levelling compound, concrete, subfloor boards and even glazed tiles.

It suits all wood species, including moisture-sensitive, oily tropical wood and bamboo, and engineered parquet up to 29 cm wide and solid boards up to 22 cm wide. It builds strength very fast: walkable after 2 hours, sandable after 12 hours. It is suitable for underfloor heating, dampens impact sound and carries the EC1 Plus emission label.

Not suitable for small formats such as mosaic and tapis parquet. On very absorbent substrates prime first with Rectavit Primer Surface P1500.

How to use it

• The substrate must be dry (cement screed max. 2% residual moisture, anhydrite max. 0.5 to 0.7%), sound, clean and dust-free. Always sand anhydrite. Switch off underfloor heating.
• Let parquet and adhesive acclimatise (+15 °C to +25 °C, RH 45 to 55%).
• Cut open the bag and spread the adhesive with the Rectavit notched trowel: B3 for small formats, B11 for large boards.
• Lay the parquet within about 20 minutes; you can still adjust for about 10 minutes. Ensure at least 80% adhesive transfer.
• Leave at least 1.5 cm expansion gap all round. Remove fresh residue with Rectavit Dissol or Easy Wipes.
