About this product
Rectavit Primer Surface P1500 is a universal water-based, solvent-free primer for indoor use. On absorbent mineral substrates such as cement and anhydrite screed, levelling compound, concrete and plaster it limits absorption, so you use less adhesive and it spreads better. On non-absorbent substrates such as ceramic tiles it acts as a bonding primer, and on chipboard, OSB, MDF and plank floors as an adhesion promoter.
It can be used under all parquet adhesives, for example Rectavit 249 Express, and under tile, floor and wall adhesives. It is suitable for underfloor heating and dries clear.
The substrate must be dry, sound, clean and dust-free. Work from a paint bucket, do not pour the product onto the floor.
How to use it
- Make sure the substrate is dry, sound, clean and dust-free (cement screed max. 2% residual moisture, anhydrite max. 0.5 to 0.7%, carbide method). Switch off underfloor heating.
- Do not thin. Apply with a block brush, foam or pile roller from a paint bucket, in one or more coats; 2 coats on very absorbent substrates.
- Let it dry before gluing: cement screed 15 to 30 min., slightly absorbent 30 to 60 min., wood approx. 4 hours, non-absorbent 4 to 12 hours, anhydrite 12 to 24 hours.
- Apply between +15 °C and +25 °C.
