About this product

Rectavit Bangkirai Renovator is a penetrating bangkirai-coloured oil for decking and cladding in hardwoods such as bangkirai, bilinga, padauk and azobe, both new and weathered. It gives the wood the typical brown colour of new bangkirai, protects against rain, sun, temperature changes, dirt and stains and prevents premature greying. It also reduces the risk of slipping on decks.

The oil forms no film: the grain stays visible and the wood can breathe. Can also be used on pergolas, fences, garden furniture and sheds.

Clean the deck first with Rectavit Bangkirai & Cedar Cleaner. Plan on one maintenance coat a year, more often with heavy use.

How to use it

  • The wood must be clean, dry (max. 18% moisture) and free of dust, grease and wax. Clean first with Rectavit Bangkirai & Cedar Cleaner and let it dry 24 hours.
  • Stir well, do not thin. Not in frost, damp or foggy weather.
  • Apply generously with a soft long-bristle brush, board by board and along the grain; pay attention to joints and edges.
  • 3 coats for decks, 2 coats for other wood, with 8 hours drying in between.
  • Let it dry at least 24 hours before rain and cure a few days before walking on it.
