About this product
Blanchon Hardwax Oil is an indoor finish based on plant oils and waxes. It penetrates deeply into solid wood, parquet and plank floors, veneer and cork, as well as worktops, joinery and furniture. The wood is protected against dust and moisture for the long term and keeps a natural look.
It suits all common wood species; for special exotic species ask for advice first. It comes in natural and 11 colours.
For maintenance clean with Blanchon Natural Soap and refresh with Blanchon Maintenance Oil or Universal Maintenance Oil. Damaged spots can be sanded and re-oiled locally.
How to use it
- Sand to bare wood (grit 24 or 36, then 50 or 60, finish with 100 or 120) and vacuum. The wood must be dry (below 10% moisture).
- Shake well, do not thin. Do not apply below 12 °C.
- Apply a very thin coat along the grain (brush, flat spatula or short-pile roller) and buff regularly while working with a cotton cloth or a buffer with beige pad. Work in small areas.
- Wait 8 to 12 hours and apply a second coat the same way.
- Clean tools with Blanchon odourless thinner; rinse cloths and pads in water (risk of spontaneous combustion).
